Homelessness Women
WHAG offers supportive services and accommodation for women and young parents with babies who are homeless or who are at risk of homelessness, and people of all genders, children, and some pets, who are fleeing domestic abuse.
Female homelessness support – short-term life support & tenancy skills
Short-term accommodation (female only)
Rose Court is female only accommodation project comprised of 16 flats with staff on site 24 hours a day. This includes Support Workers and waking night Concierge staff. We offer a range of support for women for up to 12 months. This can include:
- Domestic abuse/Healthy relationship programmes.
- 1:1 support
- Managing finances
- Referrals for Counselling
- Court support and legal remedies
- Move on into independent accommodation
- Education and training support
- Any other 1-1 support
Community Outreach Support
We provide Outreach Support for single females in the community or in their homes, (with or without children) for up to 6 months. The support we offer on outreach can include:
- Support to maintain own accommodation
- Setting up utilities
- Accessing grants for furniture/white goods
- Developing budgeting skills/managing debt
- Support to access/claim welfare benefits and complete forms
- Basic skills (numeracy/literacy)
- Accessing faith and cultural networks
- Opportunities for paid employment and volunteering
- Accessing further education
- Accessing community, social, leisure activities
- Domestic abuse/Healthy Relationship programmes in a group or 1:1 setting
- Any other 1-1 support
Group programmes
At Rose Court we offer group sessions including pre tenancy awareness sessions, Domestic Abuse/Healthy Relationship Programmes, self-esteem and confidence building, budgeting, cooking sessions and other sessions to reduce isolation and improve individuals’ wellbeing, e.g. healthy eating cooking sessions.
How do I access this service?
You need to fill in a service referral form and email it to rcfsreferrals@whag.info.
You can fill in the form yourself or you can ask someone else to do it for you, such as your social worker, police, housing officer, IDVA, or health visitor.
You can also self-refer by calling 01706 718 180 where a Support Worker will complete the referral with you.
